Story: A complete family story sans any violence neatly handled by director Nagashekhar.

Movie Review: It's a Ramya show from the beginning to the end. With brilliant expressions and good dialogue delivery, Ramya gives life to her role of a next-door girl Geetha alias Puttakka. Be it a romantic scene or sentimental sequence, the ace actress gets full marks for her brilliant portrayal of the character.

Not to be left behind is the matured performance by Srinagara Kitty, who has done an excellent job as Geetha's lover.

Armed with an excellent script, director Nagashekhar has done a great job with the fast-paced narration, which leaves no room to lag. While the first half is built around the romance between the hero and heroine, the second half gets adventurous with the imprisoned hero planning his escape to meet his sweetheart. Nagashekhar delivers a movie, which sports many twists to the story, and keeps you gripped to the seat for the climax.

It's a simple story of Geetha (Ramya) and Sanju (Srinagara Kitty) falling in love with each other and all set to tie the knot. But circumstances force Sanju to murder Geetha's relative and go to jail. Meanwhile, Geetha slips into depression and also loses her memory in an accident. When Sanju comes to know of this, he desperately tries to come out of the jail.

Music director Jassie Gift wins your heart with his melodious tunes to the lyrics of Kaviraj and Nagendra Prasad and equally good is Imran Sardaria's choreography. Manjunath Sanjiv has some catchy dialogues for you. Sathya Hegde needs a special mention for his brilliant cinematography.

Paramathma has showcased Puneeth Rajkumar in an entirely different character. In the entire movie Paramathma (also lovingly called as Karadie by his friends) has very simple dialogues. Each and every scene in the film is very close to reality and can be related to each and everyone’s life at some point of time or the other.Yograj Bhat’s Paramatma is a love story and it is the love story of Paramatma narrated beautifully by Bhat. Director’s imagination has been portrayed brilliantly in this casual, yet beautiful love story.

Music Director Harikrishna & Camera man Sanoth Rai Pathaje, has also done an excellent job.

The characters in Paramathma Ananth Nag, Avinash and Dattatreya are in good standards. All the three have done convincingly and great . Ramya Barne  who does not have much dialogues in Paramathma does not get noticed much.Aindrita Ray has given her best performance like a silent killer who steals the show of Paramathma and Deepa has done her best…. !

Altogether the film is casual and entertaining. The Narration style of Yograj Bhat is simply marvelous and only in the last thirty minutes of the movie, you get a classic feel, the rest is just average. The film will be great and worth watching, if u feel from your heart.

Twenty-five years ago, the stalwarts of Kannada literature, Kuvempu and Shivaram Karanth, appealed to the Kannadigas to broaden their horizons

When the second World Kannada Meet begins on Friday, it will turn a new chapter in the history of Belgaum. As thousands assemble at the Veera Soudha Udyana to participate in a procession, it will be reminiscent of the 39th session of the Indian National Congress of 1924. What stands as a testimony to the glorious past of the place are Veera Soudha (a memorial) and Pampa Sarovar, a well dug up to supply water to the delegates of the session. The well continues to serve people of Belgaum even after 25 years.

The INC session held between December 26 and 28 was significant not just because Belgaum played host, but because of the impetus it gave to the freedom struggle. It was the only session chaired by Mahatma Gandhi, who showed great respect to the land by touching its soil immediately after landing here. It was here that the Mahatma adopted the “non-violent and non-cooperation’’ means to attain political freedom.

After saluting the martyrs, the procession on Friday will pay tribute to queen Rani Channamma at Channamma Circle. In 1824, Kittur Rani Channamma, with her valiant fight against the British, had inspired hundreds of Indians. She had paved the way for the first struggle for Indian Independence in the Sepoy Mutiny in 1858. In the last leg, the procession showcasing the rich and vibrant culture and tradition of Karnataka will reach the district stadium, the main venue of the Sammelana named after Rani Channamma.

At the magnificent stage depicting the grandeur of Belur and Halebid, the Kannadiga who has put Karnataka on the world map, Infosys mentor N R Narayana Murthy, will inaugurate the event. What follows till Sunday night would be an unbridled treat.

PAYBACK TIME FOR NRKs

Non-resident Kannadigas (NRKs) now have a chance to give something back to their state, which they left for better prospects. Tugging at the emotional chords of such people, the state government has drawn up a voluntary scheme called ‘My language-My state’ under which NRKs can contribute for the language and development of the state. “We will not force anyone to do anything but we will certainly not hesitate if they (NRKs) have anything to do for the language or the land,’’ said event manager and Belgaum district minister Umesh V Katti. NRKs can enjoy a package tour of one of the regions of Karnataka, free of cost, courtesy the tourism department. Of the 300 NRKs invited by the government, only 131 have confirmed their participation. Most of them reside in the US, UK and the Gulf. Prominent among them is Amaranath Gowda, leading lawyer in the US. He is the first foreign lawyer to be licensed in Michigan by the Michigan Board of Law Examiners as special legal consultant on the laws of India (1988). For every film that is high on substance, comes another that is super high on all things commercial. The see-saw in question is Kannada film industry’s latest offering, Kempegowda. The fact that this film was made with the aim of gaining a foothold, after team Shankar Gowda and Sudeep experienced a lull at the box office with their last film Just Math Mathalli, puts this one right under the scanner.

Kempegowda, a take-off on Tamil film Singam, is a story about an angry young policeman with zero threshold for injustice. His good work for the department wins him a series of promotions which also gradually increases the intensity in the kind of cases he ends up handling. The transition from a cop at a small village to being the assistant commissioner of police is interestingly conveyed through the pace of the screenplay — which is mellow initially but gradually goes on to become extremely quick.

This one also happens to be an out-and-out mass entertainer, the sort wherein watching it at one of the main screens on KG Road proves to be an unforgettable experience. Be prepared to see audience dance in front of the screen when the hero dances, whistle when the hero packs in a power-packed punch, feel the fury when the hero is humiliated and experience joy at every dialogue that marks the victory of the good over the evil. It is the sort of film that will attract the masses who thrive on living the larger-than-life screen image while they spend those few hours in the cinema hall. And quite rightly, it doesn’t come as a surprise that it has in it all the ingredients that make up the formula for commercial success.

Watch Kempegowda for its songs, most of which seem to blend in with the story rather than those cut and paste jobs that we are used to watching otherwise. Also engaging are the fights, which actually manage to get your adrenaline pumping. Watch it also for some intriguing performances by Sudeep and Ravishankar (the villain). The film is very high on style, which has upped the bar for the film industry in a big way.

Ragini Dwivedi looks fabulous in the songs, but pips down on the same scale during her scenes, thanks to bad makeup. One does see her better her acting skills with each film, but she’s failed to grab attention in two of her most important scenes, which, had she done well, would have had fans swooning over her and could have at least helped ‘up’ her position in the industry. There’s also Sharan, who brings in the comic element — totally hilarious, but prepare for a bit of an overdose. There is this endearing chemistry between Girish Karnad and Tara, who play the heroine’s parents, which rocks. Give us more of their bickering, any day.

Vishwa Kannada Sammelana is taking place on 11th, 12 and 13 of March at Belgaum the Kannada cinema industry declaring holiday for five days from 9th of March is taking part in the inaugural day event of Sammelana and further taking up ‘Kannada Jagruthi’ tour on remaining two days.

It is Rs.30 crores event for three days organized by the Karnataka Government in the land dominated by MES political party where the border dispute is since ages from Karnataka and Maharashtra.

The Belgaum city and surroundings areas where the hotels, hostels, Marriage Halls, cottages, private houses are situated have been booked for accommodations.

More than one lakh people are expected to take part. Kannadigas situated in about 38 countries are reaching Bangalore the magnificent event.

Hudugru was launched at the Kanteerava Studio in Bangalore on 18th October, just four days after the release of his movie Jackie.
