Vishwa Kannada Sammelana is taking place on 11th, 12 and 13 of March at Belgaum the Kannada cinema industry declaring holiday for five days from 9th of March is taking part in the inaugural day event of Sammelana and further taking up ‘Kannada Jagruthi’ tour on remaining two days.
It is Rs.30 crores event for three days organized by the Karnataka Government in the land dominated by MES political party where the border dispute is since ages from Karnataka and Maharashtra.
The Belgaum city and surroundings areas where the hotels, hostels, Marriage Halls, cottages, private houses are situated have been booked for accommodations.
More than one lakh people are expected to take part. Kannadigas situated in about 38 countries are reaching Bangalore the magnificent event.
Infosys Chairman NR Narayanamurthy will be inaugurating the 3 days Vishwa Kannada Sammelana while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the chief guest. The National poet Dr GS Shivarudrappa, Karnataka chief minister Dr BS Yediyurappa, ministers, local heads, one prominent personality from different areas are on the dais.
The team consisting of 1000 persons from Kannada film industry assembling at Freedom Park on Thursday morning leave for Belgaum in nearly 12 hours journey. In Twenty Volvo and 10 Rajahamsa buses the team from KFI take part in the mega event.
The following is the time table furnished by KFCC President Basanthkumar Patil:
· Assemble at Freedom Park at 8 am on 10th of March. Breakfast and departure to Belgaum at 8.30 am
· Reach Davanagere at 1 pm for lunch hosted by Shamanur Shivashankarappa.
· Reach Hubli around 4pm for coffee and snacks and reach Belgaum in the evening.
· At 9 am on 11th of March the KFI go in a procession to take part in the inaugural event that starts at 9.30 am.
· On the same day at 4.30 pm at the main venue the artists, technicians, producers, directors assemble for participation in the cultural activities.
· The Kannada film industry cultural show headed by Hamsalekha come up at 9 pm and for two hours various programs – song and dance depicting the significance of Kannada language in the banner ‘Namma Abhimana Chandana Vana’.
· On 12th of March 2011 – Morning we reach Hubli for ‘Kannada Jagruthi’ the hospitality is extended by Jagadish Shettar – follows a cultural show.
· On the same day reach Ranibennur at 3 pm for another show and hospitality is extended by Shivanna MLA.
· In the evening at Davanagere a mammoth cultural show by Kannada film industry take in the hospitality of minister Renukacharya. Halt at Davanagere.
· 13th Morning leave for Chitradurga for a program at 12 noon.
· In the evening at 5 pm another mammoth program is taking place at Tumkur for two hours. Minister Somanna and DCP Somasekhar are extending the hospitality.
· On 13th night the KFI reach Bangalore.
